“Not Your Typical Frat Boy”
(Greek Week, Fraternity and Sorority specific audiences)
When you list the stereotypical traits of fraternity and sorority members, “blind with facial trauma” isn’t usually on the list. Yet, just a few years after Marcus Engel was blinded and nearly killed by a drunk driver, he was initiated into the Kappa Sigma fraternity. This program points out the positive aspects of the fraternity/sorority system (great for recruitment events!) and gives tips on how chapters can become even more welcoming and inclusive. Audience members will leave with excitement and desire to make their chapters as open and accepting as possible, while also re-affirming their decision to “Go Greek!”

Can I Say That??”
(Diversity, Disability Awareness)

How do I act?” If you’ve ever had occasion to meet someone of a different race, nationality, gender, sexual orientation or level of ability, you may have questioned what your role should be. In this session, Marcus Engel explores diversity from a human perspective. Audiences will learn why it’s okay to ask respectful questions, associate outside of one’s usual circles and learn ways to be more comfortable with all people!
